As part of an effort to redesign the Muse EEG headband, EDL helped InteraXon with the development of a custom electrical connector for mounting their brain monitoring technology onto a comfortable, easy-to-use headband. Based on user feedback from their current on-the-market design, InteraXon was looking to create a more seamless, intuitive, and robust method for connecting their Muse device onto a headband while isolating electrical components to allow for the headband to be washed. EDL worked with them to define key design parameters, develop various conceptual designs, and perform rapid prototyping to test and validate design performance. The quick turnaround of physical models enabled the customer to better evaluate the various design options, and was key in allowing them to quickly converge on a successful solution. EDL also supported the customer in their transition to manufacturing, working with
their vendor to ensure the design intent remained while adjusting certain parameters to account for manufacturing constraints.
More Info from Muse:
The Muse S Athena is the first-ever consumer wearable to combine EEG (brain activity tracking) and fNIRS (brain oxygenation monitoring) to optimize focus, mental endurance, and cognitive resilience. This technology has been designed to train your brain, just as you would your body, revolutionizing mental fitness. Thank you to our brilliant research and product development team for creating this innovative technology, and to our Musers for your continued support and to future Musers who will join us in improving brain health for all.
